NATIONAL FOREST TIMBER SALE TAHOE NATIONAL FOREST PRE-ADVERTISEMENT The Tahoe National Forest intends to advertise timber designated for cutting in the Nyack Integrated Resource Timber Contract (IRTC). The Nyack IRTC is located within portions of T.17N., R.l2E., Section 32; T.l6N., R.11E., Sections 1, 12, 13, and 24; and T.16N., R.12E. Sections 5, 6, 7, 8 and 18 MDM. Included timber to be cut and removed from the sale area will consist of an estimated 23,989 Green Tons (10,390 CCF / 5,923 MBF) of sawtimber. There are 394 acres of mechanical thinning, 48 acres of plantation thinning, 162 acres of skyline thinning, and 98 acres of roadside hazard on a total of 702 harvest acres. Within the sale area there are several miles of road maintenance and re-construction connected with the haul route. Proposed Stewardship Projects connected with this contract are: Specified road maintenance: 19-22 road beyond unit 4; 19-22-2 road beyond units 4/5. Specified road re-construction: a portion of the 19-22 road beyond unit 4 to end; and a portion of the 19-22-2 road beyond units 4/5 to end. This advance notice is to afford interested parties time to examine the sale area prior to the area being inaccessible due to winter weather.
