NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice of Public Hearing for the presentation of the proposed plan for use of the Permanent Local Housing Allocation (PLHA) Funds NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County of Nevada will conduct a public hearing on July 14, 2020 at 10:30 a.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, located at the Board of Supervisors Chambers of the Eric Rood Administrative Center, 950 Maidu Ave, Nevada City CA 95959 in order to review and provide comment on the plan for the use of Permanent Local Housing Allocation (PLHA) funding. This public hearing will occur as an agenda item during the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meetings. There will be a presentation of the plan followed by public comment. If social distancing measures are in effect and the meeting occurs remotely, members of the public may still provide public comment by on this matter by: 1) submitting written comments through the U.S. Mail; 2) emailing Email Me; 3) calling (530) 264-0554 and leaving a voice mail message; or 4) leaving an eComment at https://www.my nevadacounty.com/822/Meeting-Information-Video-Streaming. As the date grows closer to the public hearing, please contact the Clerk of the Board at (530) 265-1480 or email Email Me for additional information on the location of the meeting, as well as how to provide public comment. The County of Nevada has been allocated $306,319 annually over the next five years through the PLHA program. The City of Grass Valley and Nevada City have both delegated all or a portion of their PLHA funds to the County, bringing the total yearly allocation of funds to as much as $520,692. These funds can be used for a variety of eligible activities focused on the development of very-low, low, and moderate-income housing in the region. You have the right to attend the Board of Supervisor's public hearing to discuss the above matters, provide oral testimony and comment, and/or submit written materials regarding the potential actions. Any person wishing to offer testimony on this matter should appear at the public hearing or may submit written comments (an original and 9 copies) to the Clerk of the Board Supervisors at or prior to the scheduled public hearing. The Board Chairperson may place reasonable restrictions on the time allowed to any person to speak on these matters. Any person speaking on behalf of an organization or group who wishes additional time must have a written statement signed by an officer of that organization stating that he/she is authorized to speak on behalf of that body, and that he/she is relaying the majority thinking thereof. If you challenge the Board of Supervisors determinations or decisions in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors at, or prior to, the public hearing.
